Who is responsible

The controller of your personal data is Juliusz Drojecki, Dębina 22a/1, 61-450 Poznań, Poland (Polish tax ID, NIP: 7831951428), operating answeredwhy.com under the name Answered Why. Contact: hello@answeredwhy.com.

What we collect and why

Server logs

Our web server records your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for and the time. We use these logs to keep the site running and secure (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and keep them only as long as our hosting provider stores them by default.

Analytics (only with your consent)

If you click Accept in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which articles people read. Google sets cookies that start with _ga and processes your IP address in shortened form. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Google keeps the data for 2 months, the default setting in Google Analytics. If you click Reject, Google Analytics sets no cookies; through Google Consent Mode it may receive cookieless signals with no identifiers.

Advertising

This site may show ads from Google AdSense. When ads run, Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent message will ask you first, and you can choose non-personalized ads. Read how Google uses data from sites that use its services and manage personalized ads in Google Ad Settings.

YouTube videos

Articles show a still image of the video. YouTube loads only when you press play, from youtube-nocookie.com. From that moment Google processes data under its own privacy policy.

Newsletter

The newsletter brings new answers and, from time to time, offers and recommendations. If you sign up, we store your email address, the page you signed up on, the consent text you agreed to and the dates of sign-up and unsubscribing. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Every newsletter email has a personal unsubscribe link. After you unsubscribe we keep your address and dates only as proof of consent and to make sure we don't email you again. We keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address for one hour to stop spam sign-ups.

Email

If you write to us, we use your address and message only to reply, and keep it only as long as the matter needs.

Who receives data

Our hosting provider (server logs) and Google Ireland Limited (Analytics, AdSense, YouTube) when the conditions above apply. Google may transfer data to the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest. You can withdraw consent at any time through ; withdrawal does not affect earlier processing. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in Poland: Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych).
